Re-Play Counseling exists to heal the hearts, transform the minds and empower the bodies of children, teenagers and adults affected by trauma, attachment wounds, anxiety, developmental disabilities and difficult situations in life.
Re-Play Counseling has a holistic view of life, meaning that an individual is made up of body, soul and spirit. For example, chronic migraines and health issues can potentially lead to depression. The issues that an individual comes in with are viewed not just from the lens of one’s mental health, but overall health, and treatment is implemented accordingly.
Re-Play operates from a systems belief that a presenting problem may be rooted not just in a child’s problematic behavior and symptoms but the overall well-being of the whole environment around the child. By addressing the needs of the home, school, child and the parent, change can be affected that will lead to healing. Parents are an integral part of the therapy process for their child and may be used as tools of growth throughout the healing process.
Re-Play Counseling values faith, transparency, authenticity, compassion, hope and a growth mindset. All staff are hired with those values in mind and mentored in the continual reflection of these values.
Re-Play values collaboration and teamwork as part of a holistic model. This means that Re-Play Counseling staff routinely confers with doctors, school counselors, teachers, family members, caregivers and other people involved in a client’s support network in order to provide the best possible care. This allows the therapist to not only get input from other Influences in the individual’s life to truly get a picture of the problem, but then it also allows for a community of people to be involved to effect change and offer support when needed.
Re-Play Counseling values education and learning, so it provides an environment where children, parents, therapists and interns work together to achieve change. New professionals and interns that are working towards a master’s degree are incorporated into the services at Re-Play in order to allow for continual growth and training. Staff routinely meets to confer about case management to further understanding and ensure quality of services provided. In addition, Re-Play Counseling is committed to obtaining training in cutting edge modalities to better serve the community. This means that staff attends training on a regular basis. Re-Play also values excellence in the work that is done, and continual feedback is requested in order to ensure that our clients are provided with the therapy that is truly meeting the client’s needs. This takes the form of informal discussions about how treatment is going, as well as satisfaction surveys.
